These might include anxiety states, arthritis, asthma, back pain, circulatory problems, depression, facial paralysis, fibrosis, high blood pressure, indeterminate aches and pains, infertility, menstrual problems, migraines, rheumatism, sciatica, skin conditions or ulcers. Acupuncture is a safe treatment for all. It has proved to be effective in pregnancy management and for the relief of pain in childbirth. Acupuncture is also helpful for people trying to overcome addictions such as those related to smoking, alcohol, food or drugs. What does it feel like? Most people’s experience of needles is of those used in injections and blood tests. Acupuncture needles bear little resemblance to these. They are much finer and are solid rather than hollow. When the needle is inserted, the sensation is often described as a tingling or dull ache. Is it safe? All members of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) observe a strict Code of Safe Practice, amongst others, which lays down stringent standards of hygiene and requires the use of sterile disposable needles. Patients who have been treated by a BAcC member are eligible to donate blood through the National Blood Service. |

Traditional Acupuncture
Treatment The idea of needles worries most people but acupuncture needles are completely unlike those used for taking blood or giving injections. They are very fine and in most cases the actual insection is experienced more as a tingling or dull ache. What People Say "I am so relieved that I overcome my fear of needles to have treatment. The benifits have been far greater than I ever imagined and I now wish I'd done it years ago. Relief from menopausal symptoms, increased energy levels and less back pain have been just some of the results of treatment. I'd recommend it to everyone." Marlene, Gloucester.
Free consultation I offer a free 15 minute informal chat at the clinic to help you decide if acupuncture has the potential to help you. It is an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have. There are no obligations to have treatment.
