Swedish Body Massage

A very popular form of massage enjoyed by people of all ages and lifestyles. The term “Swedish massage” refers to a variety of techniques specially designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. One of it purposes is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the body.

Swedish massage includes long, relaxing strokes, kneading, friction, tapping and shaking motions. It is effective for most ailments, because massaging the skin, the body’s largest organ, sets up a chain reaction that produces a positive effect on all layers and systems of the body. It affects nerves, muscles, glands and circulation, while promoting health and well-being. Swedish massage helps release the body of unwanted strain and stress. Your body will feel rested and your mind at ease for a total pampering experience.

David Beaumont-Massage Therapist (VTCT,NIM)

Having qualified in Swedish Body massage in 2007,I became interested in other treatments like chinese remedial massage and soft tissue release and successfully completed courses in both,as i wanted to offer not just a standard massage, but a treatment specific to the needs of each individual patient.

The treatments I offer could help with the following :

Relieve muscular pain

Relieve stiff joints and aid flexibility

Improve blood circulation

Increase elimination of toxins

Re-educate muscles to heal themselves

Correct muscular imbalances

Relieve stress and promote relaxation

Chinese Remedial Massage (Tui Na) is a deeply penetrating massage, using pressure points along the meridians of the body (similar to methods used in acupuncture without the needles). The aim of this treatment is to bring balance and harmony back to the body. It is very effective in loosening tense, tight muscles and is profoundly relaxing.

Soft Tissue Release is a much more specific neuromuscular therapy for correcting muscular imbalances, accelerating healing of muscular injuries. The essence of the approach is a method of applying pressure to a muscle at the same time the muscle is being stretched. This coordinated movement has a correcting effect on many muscular imbalances, including injured areas where scar tissue has formed.
